It's hard. Carving something I really like, and then not having it right here to be able to look at, to absorb, to be part of. I prefer being able to spend some time with a carving after I complete it. I don't know... some kind of 'bonding time'. Time to sit back and take it all in. It still amazes me that I can create these things. I grew up a 'jock', a 'tomboy', not an artist. And yet, somehow (thanks God ;), I am able to carve things that actually look like things. So I guess really, a big part of this 'bonding time', is me sitting there looking at the carving, thinking "wow... I did that?!"
At least I know I will be seeing my car this Saturday at the season opener.
