I moved right along on Day One. However, when Day Two was under way, I realized I'd slowed down some. Working on the face and blocking the the volume of the head, and lean of the body, and getting lost in thought. Still feel like I made good progress. Yesterday, I was only able to carve for half a day. I had to make a trip into town. Okay, so it wasn't the time the trip itself took. Maybe it was the time it took to hull the gallon of fresh locally grown strawberries, that used up so much time. That, and coming back in from carving in time to bake the short cake 8)
At any rate, I spent time refining the facial structure and expression. I'm pleased with my progress, and how the carving is turning out so far. If the rain lets up enough for me to safely walk to the studio, I'll get more carving done today!
